The Wine Route

A must-see in Alsace, the Wine Route is a highlight for wine lovers and travelers alike, offering picturesque landscapes and architecture.

One of France's oldest wine routes, it stretches 170 kilometers, offering an ideal journey to discover the 10 Alsatian grape varieties, including the prestigious Riesling, Gewürztraminer, and Pinot Gris.

With 51 Grand Crus, Alsace stands out for its exceptional wine diversity. And every season has its own charm: in spring, the 15,000 hectares of vineyards are adorned with soft green; summer is brimming with activities; autumn invites you to the grape harvest; and winter enchants with the magic of Christmas markets in the villages. Whether you choose to travel by car or bike, the Wine Route is a pleasure to explore all year round.

Château de Grunstein is an ideal starting point for exploring this route. Located just 5 km from it, it places you at the heart of some rare gems: nearby, you can discover the unique Klevener d'Heiligenstein, as well as the only Sylvaner classified as Grand Cru, the Zotzenberg in Mittelbergheim.

All around you, numerous independent winemakers offer exceptional wines, ranging from conventional to biodynamic, allowing you to taste the very best that Alsace has to offer.
